Artvoice Best of Buffalo 2012

The Results Are In!

After many days of verifying, tallying, and double checking - we have the results to the 2012 Best of Buffalo polling!

A quick note about how this works for the uninitiated: The links below will take you to the list of Best of Buffalo nominees. The nominees were determined by taking the top five vote-getters from each category. We then mix them up and display them in random order to hide the first-place winner, for now. We'll announce who those winners are, and present them with a handsome award at our Best of Buffalo party on Monday, May 14th, beginning at 6PM at the Town Ballroom (681 Main St.). We'll also post the winners list here, on the following day.

Our polling is a democratic process, but not a scientific poll. Votes were taken in an entirely free-form fashion; anyone could vote for anything, so as long as responses were relevant to the question - and local - they were counted. We try our best to screen out ballot stuffing, and present accurate results. These results represent our reader's opinions! (So it's not we who "failed" to nominate something you might feel was deserving; it just didn't get enough votes to make the cut!)

We get to say our piece every other week of the year - so this was your chance to. (Okay, we couldn't help it entirely - you'll find a few "Editor's Picks" sprinkled throughout the nominees. They're clearly labeled as such.)

You'll find some of our favorite responses to this year's essay question, "If I were mayor of Buffalo..." in the BoB intro. We'll be posting more of them on the Artvoice Daily blog in the days to come.
