#3: "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls

Year: 1998

Peak chart position: #3

"Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls is so timeless that it's hard to believe it was released in 1998. It still garners airplay on top 40, adult contemporary, and rock radio stations. It has been ranked by Billboard as one of the most played songs in the history of contemporary radio.

"Iris" originally appeared on the soundtrack to the film City of Angels and later on the Goo Goo Doll's sixth album Dizzy Up the Girl. It was the band's biggest international hit, peaking in the top five in more than 27 countries.

The Goo Goo Dolls performed "Iris" at a benefit concert for the victims of the 911 terrorist attacks at Madison Square Garden in New York City. They also debuted a new song called "Twist of Life," but it has never made its debut as a single or album cut.

WHAT?!  How did I never hear of this "Twist of Life" song?  I thought they only played "Iris" and "American Girl"?

ScarsAreSouvenirs:
I've never heard of that song either. And John played "Wish You Were Here" with Fred Durst.

There is no such song, the author of the article simply has no idea what he/she is talking about.
