Richardson’s Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival is known for its eclectic musical taste. This year is no different.

Acts include a legendary R&B/funk band, “the King of Party Bands” that’s fronted by “Elvis,” and a folk band best known for its children’s music. The festival, which celebrated its 25th year in 2017, will be May 18-20 at Galatyn Park Urban Center.

Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees and legendary party starters Kool & the Gang will perform Friday, May 18. Friday’s schedule also includes Spoon; Eve 6; Starship featuring Mickey Thomas; Radney Foster; Keith Harkin; Graceland Ninjaz, the aforementioned party band; and Infinite Journey.

Goo Goo Dolls are on the bill for Saturday. That schedule also includes: Jimmy Eat World; Lifehouse; Switchfoot; Gin Blossoms; John Ford Coley; Max and Heather Stalling; and Rich Girls.

Reckless Kelly tops the bill for Sunday, May 20. The schedule for the day also includes: A Thousand Horses; and Trout Fishing in America, the duo that delights children and parents.

More than 80 acts will perform during the festival, which was founded to celebrate the wildflowers planted in Richardson. A children’s area, a marketplace and a Battle of the Bands will also be part of the festival.

Tickets go on sale March 15 at 10 a.m. at the Wildflower website, wildflowerfestival.com.
