ABC Radio – Hold your horses: Goo Goo Dolls’ John Rzeznik to perform at Kentucky Derby event

Giddy up: Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznick will be taking the stage at the seventh-annual Unbridled Eve Derby Gala in Kentucky next week

He’ll be performing some classic Goo Goo Dolls hits including “Name” and “Iris.” Rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot and actor Dennis Quaid will also be performing.

The official Kentucky Derby event has a guest list of local and national business leaders, horse racing industry professionals and celebrities.

In addition to the musical performances, there will also be an auction that benefits charities, including the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund at Fund for the Arts, established by actress and Kentucky native Jennifer Lawrence .

The Unbridled Eve Derby Gala will take place on Friday, May 4 at The Galt House Hotel & Suites in Louisville.

Goo Goo Dolls are playing a number of festivals this summer, including the Soundtrack Music Festival in Edmonton, Alberta, which will also feature fellow ’90s hitmakers Blind Melon and TLC.   This fall, the band will launch a tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Dizzy Up the Girl.
