New Blog from Robby!!

Hey hey In Rockers and Welcome to the lobby for this month’s wander through the weeds and wonders that is my life as I travel around with my band and try to have a life that makes me smile a few times a day, I’m so glad you could stop in and say hi! It's been a busy month as we've been traveling around the US doing shows with Goo Goo Dolls and making the best of a crazy travel schedule that sees us in airplanes, vans, cars, boats and buses making our way to some of the most under travelled places in the United states. That makes travel tough, but these smaller markets really appreciate the effort and the crowds are just amazing!
The band has done shows over the last month in Idaho, South Dakota, West Virginia, Tennessee among others including some fundraisers and fairs. A fair is like a festival in the us that is generally done in the countryside featuring carnival rides, agricultural exhibits and competitions, shows and concerts. It’s a great opportunity to get to the heart of communities as we play our way around the smaller markets her in the states that won’t affect the bookings for our Summer 2025 North American tour that we’ll be announcing this fall. It’s also a great opportunity to pet a horse, get up close and personal with some pigs and turn myself upside down a few times and get shaken up on some amusement park rides
I also did a set of acoustic songs at our annual Music is Art Festival guitar raffle fundraiser at the Variety Club in Buffalo. We auctioned off guitars from The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper and about a dozen others as we raise funds for the Music is Art Festival which will be held on Sept 21st here in Buffalo. This is our 22nd year of holding this event and this fundraiser is a crucial art of making this thing work every year. We raised a bunch of cash and had a great time hanging with the supporters of MIA and the amazing Friends of MIA organization. I love doing these show, it gives me a chance to play a few songs I really don’t do with the band and make myself feel like a folksinger for a few minutes in the acoustic guitar. I did a couple of covers, a couple of GGDs songs I haven’t really had the opportunity perform live with the band since their recording, as well as a little bit of a catchy as hell Chappell Roan song I couldn’t seem to get out of my head before I went up to play. The Music is Art Fest, and all it’s Western New York creativity will be on full display Sept 21 on over 20 stages here in Buffalo, NY… Check out www.musicisart.org for more details and fun stuff like that !
Tonight we’re in Oregon for a show at The LB Day Amphitheater in Salem, and then it’s another quick trip home for some regular life stuff before returning to the west coast for more shows next week!
I look forward to getting back with you all next month so I can share some pics and stuff from the MIA Fest as well as get you some updates on some exciting new things going on in the world of goo goo dolls …. Ok that’s it for this month, hope you all have been having a great summer and I hope you enjoy your time until we speak next here in the pages of the mighty In Rock !

Peace!
