Welcome to the Absolute Goo 25th Birthday Bash, mutants! The Absolute Goo site began in 1998 as a blog and evolved into a website run by fans of the Goo Goo Dolls for fans of the Goo Goo Dolls. The same holds true today. We’re fans, you’re fans, and the music has brought us together for many years, so let's celebrate!
Over the years, the site has offered a mailing list, a chat room, a message board, updates, news, and a place for Goo fans to hang their hats and chill awhile. Those of you who have frequented the site may recall radio chart pushes, Mindless Midweek Trivia, Absolute Goodol, ticket giveaways, Compass House auctions, Gooparazzi (yes, that was a thing), Flat Goos, fan profiles, Theater of the Mindless…the list goes on. 25 years is a big milestone – the site is now old enough to vote, drink, and rent a car without paying a ridiculous fee, but still lives in the basement rent-free. We’ve come a long way and many of you have been with us the whole time. Without all of you, there is no site.
The internet landscape has changed and the site has changed with it. We’ve all seen many changes in our lives since the site first launched. Our world has changed. Our history has changed. Regardless of the disheartening events happening globally, music brings us together and provides comfort and community. We’ve always needed that, and maybe we all need it now more than ever.
For the next two weeks, we’re going to party like it's 1998 and celebrate the band that brings us together here on the site, across the country, across the world, and across generations. We’re going to bring back some old contests and a couple of new ones so we can give away some Goo Goo Dolls swag taking up space in the basement. Join us, won’t you?

Our daily contests will be posted each morning at a somewhat reasonable time – post java of course – and you’ll have until midnight PST each day to enter. Our Absolute Ghoul contest will give you an extra day to compensate for your sugar high. Contest winners will be announced the day after each contest ends. The Compass House prize pack raffle winners will be announced on November 13th. ALL PRIZES WILL SHIP TO WINNERS THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13th.
